I edited one post today and I did change the size to meet new guidelines, but when I tried to save it the screen went white with only the header at the top

I tried it again with the same result

this scroll list thing, and those max. dimensions, give me the impression the layout is made for tablets.......
would be better if there was an option of how to view.....monitor or tablet.....

Well, this pretty much kills my Girls From T.N.A. comic that I've been posting here for 5 YEARS! There is no way in hell I can fit it into 1200 X 1500. Thanks a LOT, Renderosity. After 9 years here, you've finally managed to $%^$^&^ this site up to the point I don't even want to be here anymore.

WHY CAN'T YOU JUST LEAVE THINGS ALONE?????????????????

I am not a big time purchaser of products here, but still I do purchase quite a bit. most of my purchases are influenced by gallery renders. without a gallery that can easily be navigated I may decrease my time there in turn decrease my purchases.

I do not even know how to leave a comment or read what others has said. I am totally lost. renderosity has been my home for poser related products for 12 years first hand. since Daz has virtually cut poser users off, I was looking forward to supporting those vendors here that still has interest in supporting Victoria 4 and Poser. with a new poser imminent on the horizon, even more importance that customers much rely on renderosity.

I hope that myself as well as others are freaking out prematurely

it's still got my gallery! and I was promoted from user 6 to user 4! time to break out the champagne 😂

So how do I access all of my gallery images, only a small selection is shown on My Gallery homepage

cosmo71 ( ) posted Mon, 17 August 2015 at 6:44 PM

there are many images missing in my gallery since the latest maintenance, will the latest images be uploaded by renderosity or do I have to upload them new????

cosmo71 ( ) posted Mon, 17 August 2015 at 6:47 PM

I don`t like the new look of renderosity - both gallery and shop - ever heard of "never change a running system" ????

Richardphotos ( ) posted Mon, 17 August 2015 at 6:58 PM

I like the look of site, but the galleries threw me for a loop. I will be patient however to see what the finished system will be like

I don't see the old 512K max limit either, does that mean it's now unlimited.............not going to upload anything new until I see Gallery stats working right though anyway. How can there be an image with 3 views and 20 comments something is not right, I know for a fact before this Change I had something like 170,000 Image views where did they go and where are posts for August?

Images missing, hell August is missing, Gallery stats are wrong, how can there be 3 views and 20 something comments on an image, I know for a fact I had over 150k total views before this change now it's 8088 Bull, this is crap, a working just fine site a year ago gone bad to worse to incomprehensible, unbelievable.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can't be serious....... The images can only be a maximum of 1200 X 1500?????????????????

It's a revolution, all right - A giant step backwards. If that's the maximum size I can upload, I may have to go elsewhere. I thought this upgrade was a good thing - not so sure, now.

With Renderosity's new and ludicrous image size, limitation of 1200 X 1500 pixels, I just cannot put all that work into my images only to have them crushed to the point they're virtually unreadable. I put my whole heart and a lot of love into my art, especially the GFTNA series. But at this point, I am so discouraged and heartbroken with this latest abomination that I don't even feel like working on it. I thought the 512 KB limit was miserly, but this is just totally unreasonable. Unless Rendo changes this (unlikely), I will most likely not post anything further here. Thanks a lot, Renderosity. Oh, by the way.... I've spent my last dime in the marketplace here, and I'll not be renewing my Prime membership.

I'm with you, Richard! There is rarely a month that I don't qualify for Render Rewards. That ends today. Unless Rendo recants on this ridiculously restrictive image size, I'll not be spending a penny here anymore.

Well at least now I know the missing images in my gallery aren't gone for good (from Rendo that is - I do have the originals). Can't say I'm impressed though! Couldn't even tell from the main screen if I was still logged in or not.

The image size restrictions, in this day of broadband and faster computers, is just goofy.

Sorry, this new gallery layout is, IMO, a mess. Different sized thumbnails, 'endless' list, makes browsing a nightmare for me.....

I read the requirements to upload a picture but having the maximum height greater than the width hardly makes sense. maybe vice versa. for those that post pictures too small to be comfortably viewed this will make them happy.

just a comment. I will wait and see what it is like after the bugs are worked out. I almost never found how to get to my account

The image width must be greater than 500px and less than 1200px for the specified gallery.
The image height must be greater than 350px and less than 1500px for the specified gallery.

The size limitation is not a bug, it's a feature.
Impossible for me to fit 1200x1500.
I know that not a lot of people look at my render... But there is one important for me : Just myself...

You want me to leave... Well, that is your site, your rules... I suppose that you have your own reason to do so.
Time to seach another place for posting... I will try runtime DNA.

the file size of 1200x1500 is kind of joke, and when i want to edit an image it gives me back a frozen in white screen, same when i wanted to upload a public profile photo..etc.i do hope you get the things sorted out, meanwhile i stay away just to protect my nerves lol.!!!see you later

wysiwig ( ) posted Tue, 18 August 2015 at 2:10 AM

The upgrades need a little more work. Uploaded an image and the punctuation screwed up as it often does but now I can't edit the page. Tried "Edit in fullscreen" but got nothing. Is this permanent or are you still working on it?

cosmo71 ( ) posted Tue, 18 August 2015 at 2:30 AM

Just have uploaded an image, it will be the last upload of a render I have made so far.

I do not like the site layout and I do not like the small image formats one can upload. I will not fix/edit my renders just for this gallery and I will not create thumbnails. At the old gallery thumbnails were created automatically if not uploaded.

So far, for everyone who likes my gallery and renders and for everyone who likes/love Dixie you can thank Renderosity for this.

A_Sunbeam ( ) posted Tue, 18 August 2015 at 2:31 AM

Why do you want me to upload a thumbnail now? Just an ordinary image, no nudity, violence or what-have-you; and why crowd all the images onto one long ever-rolling page? What was wrong with separate pages and information about the artist, number of images, most viewed image and the rest of the data?
Not happy with the changes, but will wait a week to see how things settle.

A_Sunbeam ( ) posted Tue, 18 August 2015 at 2:47 AM

Before the change I could roam through someone's gallery page by page, or nip to the first image he/she ever posted - now I can't do that even with my own stuff.
People's comments do not show their avatars - is this deliberate, or just while you sort things out more?
Managed to upload image.

My Character Dixie (DX) says goodbye to renderosity because of the new gallery style and the new upload size restrictions.
Dixie will not appear at the gallery for sometime or maybe leave forever.
For everyone who likes my gallery and renders and for everyone who likes / loves Dixie (DX) you can thank Renderosity for that.

It was a good time here and it was a good gallery but it seems renderosity don`t want my renders and Dixie anymore.

You can have a look at new Dixie (DX) adventures at the DAZ Forum - Art - samples of my renders by cosmo

For all friends of Dixie, sorry.

Well, uploaded an old image sized to the new max limits in order to compare with the original.
This particular image has benefited from the revision by approx a 50% increase in image size due to the new limits.
However my thumb was rejected as being too big .
Unfortunately this required re-uploading from scratch including gallery choice, title and comments....what a PITA.
Also, all comments posted in my gallery have lost their avatars.
Site Toolbar Gallery notifications are not clearing after I have viewed them
I hope that these things will be fixed soon

helanker ( ) posted Tue, 18 August 2015 at 4:08 AM

OH Yes, bugs there are. For instans, I have tried 3 times to upload a photo and thumbnail, but the thumbnail wont accept my image, even though it is inside the limit. I give up untill this will be changed, so atleast it will accept my thm.. Why do you need to be so strict? I get really confused here. Is it Still generasting a proper thumbnail automaticly??? Because then I will for ever ignor that stupid thumbnail upload.

OK, I kind of like, that ALL the page is not updating, just because I fav an image, but what is missing, is a statistic on WHO favorized the image. We need to know who was so kind and favorize our image.

And of course I hate the stupid tapestry of my images on my frontpage. It is really annoying, when you sit with your stationary PC. And it loads deathly slow. Flicker did the same and were hated for it and now you do it too. ARRGH !!!

Hendesse ( ) posted Tue, 18 August 2015 at 4:14 AM

The statistics not agree, appear on most of my pictures "0" views. I had total approximately 250000 views but on my gallery it says 1398 views. What is that?
Will this still be corrected?

chanur56 ( ) posted Tue, 18 August 2015 at 4:20 AM · edited Tue, 18 August 2015 at 4:26 AM

Because of the new asymetrical layout and the restriction to 1200x1500 I'm out her and want to delete all my uploads. But not even that works properly. When I hit the red delete button I get the message "Success! The gallery image was successfully deleted. ", but there is no success, the 'deleted' render is still there. Can you please fix that asap that I can clear my gallery?

cosmo71 ( ) posted Tue, 18 August 2015 at 4:43 AM

I have a simple question. For what should we buy high quality figures, clothes, hair and other stuff at your store Renderosity? For small smart phone and tablet suitable images/renders? If I have to reduce the size of my renders just making them suitable for your gallery I do not need HQ or HD renders and no HQ or HD stuff from your store. Your gallery restrictions are a huge step backwards and torpedoed the advancement of 3D technology in general.

SeanMartin ( ) posted Tue, 18 August 2015 at 5:23 AM

Whose BRILLIANT idea was it to muck with something that already worked just fine? Is this piece of confused, half-baked nonsense supposed to be an "improvement"?

Honestly, the new site design is a disaster. The front page is a mess, throwing even more emphasis on the marketplace than we already needed (I mean, what, we're not spending enough money here?). The layout is chaotic at best — and God help you if you're trying to put an image in the gallery.

WAS THERE SOMETHING SO TERRIBLY WRONG WITH THE SITE THAT YOU HAD TO NUKE IT INTO OBLIVION???

SeanMartin ( ) posted Tue, 18 August 2015 at 5:31 AM

Oh, and I took a look at the laughable "recommended for you" section on the main gallery page. Yeah, Rosity, as someone who regularly posts images of guys, I really want to see photos of naked chicks.

You guys have got to be kidding me. This is just patently absurd on so many levels.

cosmo71 ( ) posted Tue, 18 August 2015 at 5:40 AM

It is like allways, you buy stuff at the store, you make renders with stuff from the store, you give credits so the artists and also renderosity make money because of new sales and what do you get? A kick in the ass with new upload restrictions. Okay, if Renderosity wants to thank me and others that way for buying things at the store, uploading images and giving credits it is there thing. No more uploads of renders with products from the store to the gallery, no more credits. And if I buy new stuff here at the store is not for sure. I do not buy things at a company that gives one a kick in the ass.

I agree with SeanMartin ......I do not need, or want recommendations, especially when they comprise 100% naked (but very pretty) ladies.

What I do want is an intelligent site search that does not require the exact word or spelling to find an item....something that has been lacking on this site since I joined.

iborg64 ( ) posted Tue, 18 August 2015 at 6:54 AM

Its so annoying trying to upload an image now 4 attempts last night mainly problems with thumbnail and every time having to retype or the fields again WHY on earth is that necessary???.Then the recomended for me that I find totally insulting all of them are photos of naked women which is all very well but 1 they are from artists Ive never looked at and galleries that ive never looked at I look at mainly vue and poser and DAZ studio so how was that arrived at?? If I wanted to be directed to a porn site i would go and find one .Where is the information when a favoured artist uploads an image ? no emails anymore? As a lesson on how to wreck a website its superb!

Hey guys... I agree with you that there is a lot that needs to be fixed. There are some serious issues with the gallery.

It has been less than 24 hours though, a little soon to be leaving, don't you think? I am sure RO staff are working hard to fix things and that they are reading the forums. This was a big change and initial bugs are inevitable. Better to keep voicing concerns instead so they have a chance to get fixed.

Having said that... those initial recommendations seem a little strange indeed. Hope to see less photos and more high quality artistic renders in my recommendations. I would also recommend letting people upload images to whatever size they are used to from before, I can see how changes to that would seriously interrupt someones workflow. Happy users = happy customers! ;)
