What's with the new way of quoting a previous post? The quotes button has been replaced with @ so when you quote someone you get

@3534856

Which is Rendo's exciting new way of saying:
"One of the posts above or on a previous page refers. If you wish to know which post, you'll have to find it yourself by finding a matching number. Have fun, because they aren't necessarily consecutive. If you eventually find it and you wish to know which part of the post is being quoted, well, tough shit, we're not telling you, figure it out. Have a nice day. And be sure to click all the handy-dandy social media links anchored permanently below for your social media-clicking pleasure"

We complained that after the last 'upgrade' we couldn't see the name of the person being quoted, so now we get THIS?

We all use forums every day, we know how they should work. Why do you people insist on ignoring all the working examples out there and instead try to invent something unusable?

This.

Markdown language rather than having an editor for bold, underline, etc. for text in a post is also REALLY stupid. Most won't even use it. Quotes should be automatic with the quote button and post not just the quote but the name of the person who is being quoted.

The design goal with Markdown was readability - that the language be readable as-is. I believe this also relates to quotes So, which part of @4220207 do the web designers deem readable "as-is"?

"mentioned @4220207 in post @4220326"

this seems to quote it. one thing I dislike about site is all the trolls (heads up, they don't exist elsewhere) made it necessary to add ignore button, but they quote entire message, with pictures, at multiple levels and who needs that? I don't need to see original msg repeated mindlessly in giant txt. IOW, previous quote markup was bad in too many ways.
