Subject: buying photoshop software

Hello all - I need to order and purchase photoshop software for a new laptop for my yearbook work at school. (My old license expired) I am used to photoshop CS but it's been years since I had to buy new software. Should I purchase the CS version? Is there a better one?? Is that a good idea with all the updates? What package should I get? I'm sure my boss would appreciate keeping the price down, but is receptive to getting what I need for my photo work.

I kid-proofed my house but they STILL get in!!

Hello odie

Not sure if you can still find any of the CS software still actually for sale per say since the current Adobe model has become subscription base which if not mistake just for Photoshop if you have a previous license you can subscribe and get Photoshop CC (creative cloud) for 9.99 a month. CS 6 was the last version that was offered as physical product but not many places where you can find it. I would contact Adobe support and explain to them your situation and take the best course of action after hearing back from them.

I've seen plenty of CS 'physical disk' for sale on amazon. If you don't mind using an older version, that's a way to go. I have the subscription photoshop and illustrator. I always have the updated version, and I have a nice cloud to store things.

It isn't that Photoshop CS has expired - it won't. The problem is that PS CS was the first version of PS to use activation and the server for that and for CS2 was lost, so you can no longer activate. I think if you check Adobe you will be able to download an unlocked version of Photoshop which, OS permitting, you should be able to use. However I do recall that PS CS has compatibility issues with more recent versions of Windows, not sure about Macs.
