Subject: Runtime G2 Will Not Load

Crispycraft ( ) posted Tue, 27 October 2015 at 4:16 PM · edited Thu, 28 November 2024 at 8:42 AM

Alrighty...I have ran into a little trouble with loading G2 into Carrara 8.5 Pro from the DAZ Runtime section. When I select it, Carrara asks me to locate the Runtime Folder, and when I do, I get a message stating that Carrara can't find the cr2 file. I've even directed Carrara right to the folder that the cr2 is in, but I still get the error message. lol

Now...with that being said, G2 WILL load from the "My DAZ 3D Library/People" folder in Carrara.

What's going on?!?!

Genesis/Genesis 2 need to load from "My DAZ 3D Library/People" content library, not your "runtime" library. A runtime library is for the older Poser compatible formats like the .cr2. The content library (DAZ Studio) is for the newer .duf format, which is what Genesis/Genesis 2 is. By trying to load G2 from a runtime library, Carrara will look for the character CR2, rather than the .duf file, and fail.

Hope this makes sense.

That explains everything! Thanks, DustRider!
