Does anybody know if a buyer of Poser 11 will be able to buy an upgrade to Poser Pro 11 later?

That will be considered a side-grade, but yes, you will be able make the change. However, it will cost more after Nov. 30th.

I think the other point is you really need to have a look at the difference between the programs before you decide. The reason that I say that is one of the reasons, the 64bit OS that has always been reserved for the pro is now in both versions. I think that is a good move by the new team. Of course the Pro version does have a lot more features it is just whether you will use them or not and only the individual user can really decide that.

I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 -  Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB  storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU .   The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.

If you look at the pricing, there are no sidegrades nor is there a variance for newer versions of Poser in upgrade. SMS reasoned that their pricing was "too confusing" so they simplified it. If you have any version of Pro, you can upgrade to Pro at the Pro upgrade pricing. If you have any version of standard, you can upgrade to standard. If you want to puchase P11 now and do not own a Pro version, you will have to pay the full amount for Pro. At least that was SMS stance on Friday when I asked why someone who hasn't upgraded since the first Pro version was released pays the same price as I do with a GD license. Not saying things could change but that was the explanation and the information I was given.

It doesn't really effect me as I am not upgrading at the moment and I already have Poser 2014 and GD but I think that SM wrong if they do not add some sidegrade pricing. The rest I can go with even though I don't really accept the 'it was too confusing' argument. Looking at the other software that has multiple versions there is usual something to make the sidegrade slightly cheaper, they are existing customers after all, then again, I guess the time when loyalty was rewarded is long gone.
