Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 31 9:45 am)
Back when odf was still developing the Antonia figure, I had the same basic problem because I began building characters with the figure months before he released the final version.
I used Dimension3D's Poser File Editor -- available in the Renderosity marketplace! -- to go through and copy parameters between files on an actor-by-actor basis. The process works well, but it is not exactly a 'quick' hack. Depending on how many parameters need to be transferred, it can be a tedious process which takes a while.
If you have Poser 10+, you can use the built-in Copy Morphs From feature to copy the desired parameters, much more readily. Poser's morph copying can produce rough morphs which need manual cleanup, under some conditions, but this rarely seems to be a problem if you are copying between two instances of the same figure base. That is, if your animated file uses V3 and you want to copy the morphs from an updated V3, the resolutions and topologies of the two figures match and you should get decent quality morph transfers. (This does, however, assume that the parameters you wish to transfer are all morphs.)
To use Poser's morph copying for this, open your animated pz3, load the updated-cr2 figure into that scene, copy the parameters, then delete the figure you just loaded for the copying and save the modified scene. It's a pretty straightforward process.

Cage can be an opinionated jerk who posts without thinking. He apologizes for this. He's honestly not trying to be a turkeyhead.
Cage had some freebies, compatible with Poser 11 and below. His Python scripts were saved at archive.org, along with the rest of the Morphography site, where they were hosted.
Hi all, Sorry for necroing this thread, but i have a solution to my problem here I'd like to add, and its brought a weird secondary problem..
Solution first; i put the new and improved model into the first frame of the animation, then i load the animation palette window, select and copy all the old V3 animation frames and paste this onto the new V3 in the animation palette, then delete the old V3, works! You have to set the IK ahead of time and there is some error correction but it works.
Now the problem HANDS, especially with IK enabled they go completely crazy, bend, twist, side-side all off by 100s of degrees... I mean the Animation palette copying doesn't seem to copy linear selection so it messes up prior error corrections but these are off on the key-frames...
Anyway i keep working on this any suggestions welcome :)
To expand on the above post. I just tried a quick scenario. I loaded She-Freak 4 and applied a 95 frame animated pose to her. In the first frame I just ctrl-c on the She-Freak main parameters dial. Then I went to the library, selected a V4 with all morphs loaded in the .cr2 and using the single check mark replaced the She-Freak figure. An unmorphed V4 stood in place, and with the main V4 parameter dial selected I just ctrl-v on the parameters tab and the V4 took the shape of She-Freak for the whole animation. Maybe that would work for you?

Hi, I have this old animation i did about two years ago, still have the model (V3) and had saved the modified character in my library .. since that time i have updated the character with many different morphs and grouped dependent parameters into new master parameters, but its still the same basic model i worked with two years ago. Is there any way i can replace the character in the animation with the updated version without loosing all the animation i did two years ago?
Or even a quick hack to copy master parameters over into .pz3 files would help..
thanks.
