Subject: Unavailable Products

Does anyone know why there are products in the marketplace that are unavailable?

It means they are no longer for sale. It either got discontinued because of low sales, or the vendor decided to remove it for whatever reason. The product page will still be there however.

As to the "why?"... Beats me.

It's not a bad idea, though; it shows what can be done, what has been done (so nobody makes the mistake of creating it again) and it gives the user a chance to contact the vendor and ask if they'd be prepared to sell it, even though it's been discontinued. Or something. :)

Some vendors leave the pages up for reference purposes. There are some no longer available products which have supporting products still sold here, like sets of textures or such. Good to have the read me pages, but sadly no option to purchase.

Nobody knows. Xfiles was on it for a while but they also gave up. For the buyers it doesn't make any sense.

It makes sense for customers that have already bought the product, to be able to access the store page for promos etc. Some time back, Rendo removed the pages for unavailable products, and the protest was massive. I for one am really glad I can go back to the product page to see what it actually is before I install it! Other shops remove the product pages of removed products, and then I have no idea of knowing what the product is without downloading it and opening the zip.

Having the read me and the product image pages (as well as linked product options (additional mats, etc) is invaluable when you have a huge library.

If the product is something you want, you can try contacting the seller to see if they will sell it to you privately...
