Subject: Render Cores

How many Render Cores does Carrara 8.1 Pro recognise? I have a, (new to me), Dual Xeon Hex Core Computer and I was rendering the 2005 Carrara Test Scene to see how fast it is and it shows 12 cores rendering, but not the Hyperthreads. My other computers also show the Hyperthreads and the cores.

I would rather be Politically Incorrect,
Then have Politically Correct-Incorrectness!!!

Hi Thelby,

Long time, no hassle! I'm not sure on the cores. When I was doing some testing for Eric Winemiller, one of the testers showed a screen grab with 64 cores going on a machine he built for gaming. I know there is a limit, but I can't tell you what it is.

There's a similar discussion over at DAZ, and someone's showing a screen grab of 36 cores in action. But I think they don't know the core limit either.
