I used to use Renderosity often for years. I left for another site awhile back .... I recently upgraded to a 'Fiber Optic' Internet Company in my area with '50MB' download speeds that move along at 'warp' speeds compared to my old, DSL land phone line system ....

Then, tonight, I come here to say "HI" to my OLD friends and upload one item in my gallery.

And I once again WAIT at Renderosity site ....

While it says, "CONNECTING" for about 10+ seconds ....

And then 15 or so seconds later, "WAITING FOR RENDEROSITY.COM" for another 15+ seconds or so before FINALLY MOVING to DO something here ....

At 50MB download system speeds on my ISP that 'jump' on ALL OTHER sites I use ....

SIGHS ....

MERRY CHRISTMAS! .... SMILES ....

Hello,

I would see if clearing your cache helps as sometimes I have to do that and then I am good to go again.

Our site is a bit faster than it was before however we are always looking into ways to make it faster. Unfortunately with a graphic heavy site, it will take a little longer to download everything than if it were filled with mainly text.

Warmest Regards,

Kristi

IMO the site is slower than it's ever been before because of all the ads. When you open a vendor store page for example you have to look at ads often for 5+ seconds before you see the page, that's annoying. And it's bad for business also:

•47% of consumers expect a web page to load in 2 seconds or less.

•40% of people abandon a website that takes more than 3 seconds to load.

•A 1 second delay in page response can result in a 7% reduction in conversions.

•If an e-commerce site is making $100,000 per day, a 1 second page delay could potentially cost you $2.5 million in lost sales every year.

It doesn't load too slow for me, but then again, I don't have a powerful modem, and I have like half the crap on the page (including all of the ads and analytics javascripts, except for one of the marketplace side banners and the clutter on the homepage) blocked. The homepage still takes a little while to load because I didn't block very much on there-- that and the bundles page because well-- it's a page full of accursed carousels.

The Block Element or select-an-element-to-hide feature of U-Block can get rid of most but not all of the annoying clutter on this site-- it takes some work however because if you block the wrong element, then you will block things that you didn't want to block.
