Subject: did anyone else have this

Hi All while using 2.78B I noticed that all my saved .blend file have the word demo automatically written into it. for instance if I saved a file as testing.blend it would be written as testingdemo.blend. Now I didn't have this in 2.78A or since upgrading to 2.78C. And was curious as to if anybody else had this and why it was happening as I couldn't find any reference about it anywhere. Even though all 3 have demo mode written up the top on them. Whicch is also confusing.

I couldn't find any references to it anywhere. So I must have been the lucky one LOL. And it didn't do it to files I created in 2.78A and then resaved in in 2.78B only new projects I created in B. And was the first I checked with the 2.78C patch which doesn't do it either. But also had other issues with B after doing a couple of low sample renders to get things right, ramp up the sample settings click render and the program shut down, didn't crash at all just closed down, reopen it and load the project and then render no probs with the higher settings. Doesn't happen in C. And taught me about saving before rendering (the hard way) lol

Well I know 2.78c had some rendering speed improvements but I had no issue with 2.78b all I can think of is something got corrupt which happens and 9 out 10 times a reinstall would fix any corrupt files and yes saving often should become second nature like any software even Blender has bad days

It may have been caused by an error in the binary of the 2.78b release, which Blender Foundation patched with the release of 2.78c. There's no mention of this specific issue in the dev logs, but I imagine binary issues can cause all manner of strange occurrence when saving a file.

Sometimes minor things and issues get fixed in patches and the release notes just say other minor issues fixed etc. When it happened though just reminded me of demo software that amends files to stat as such or watermarks images etc. Like the annoyance of Maya 2017 student which writes to the file that it was done in a student version.
