Sounds like the sort of text Firefox displays if something goes wrong loading a page. Having a browser-specific 'something's gone wrong' page appear in a small area of the webpage you're looking at smacks of iframes. Since Renderosity webpages use iframes this could well be what you're seeing.
On the other hand it could be one of those deliberately misleading advertisements intended to get you to click on them.
When it disappears what's it replaced by ?
The 3Dcheapskate* occasionally posts sensible stuff. Usually by accident.
And it usually uses Poser 11, with units set to inches. Except when it's using Poser 6 or PP2014, or when its units are set to PNU.
*also available in ShareCG, DAZ, and HiveWire3D flavours (the DeviantArt and CGBytes flavour have been discontinued).

on the far right side of renderosity page where there is off site advertising I have been seeing a message
loosely says "well that did not work well. do you want to refresh the page?"
it disappears before I can get a screen capture. is this something normal?
