Thought it was the mapping. But it is not. I have never encountered such frustration, but able to keep my cool. The results end up the same. Even with ghostman's glass shader.
This is ghostman's glass Shader. Black glass, and even rotating light bulb all same. Made a texture and applied on other.
And then I thought maybe background and floor. Nope...same...
Where is that black coming from? Even unable to notice the element is lit up, by using emission and black-body nod (proper light temps).
Here is my glass before using ghostman's glass shader. (text on light bulb to show mapping is good. I angled the text). With out text image map, the glass is the same color. Can never get a good clear lightbulb glass and to show element lit up.
No lights and only emission up about 200 thousand, with blackbody 2500 temp. Unable to see element lit up bright orange (nothing). The exhaust tube is not showing up as glass. Just black glass, or what ever black.
Ah, so not lit. The black glass can be due to:
[_] An invalid node connection or parameter value, resulting in that value returning as 0/black.
[_] No backdrop (skydome, etc) for reflections to "see", so you get nothing/black.
[_] Insufficient number of transparency bounces and/or transmission bounces (for refractive glass), resulting in an incomplete raytrace.
Bump up the max bounces as shown in orange. 16 is Superfly's max. That does not mean that Superfly will run sixteen bounces; Superfly will only run as many bounces as it needs in order to complete a raytrace.
Try those fixes. If you still see black, you may to use a different glass shader, depending on whether the glass has thickness or is single-poly, and how thick the glass is.
edit due to crosspost: I keep seeing people give advice that "all you need to do is jack up the ambient/emission". No. Doesn't work. There is considerable discrepancy between the object's apparent brightness and how much light it casts. I can do a lit bulb, but at the moment all of my machines are doing a test animation (with just such mesh lights) for Arrow1's floatplane project. I'll need to build a lightbulb. I can use the modeler (Silo) while Poser/Queue are tied up.

In my render settings I have "Progressive refinement" unchecked and some other other values. But didn't change anything. Changed background. Although in "ghostman's glass shader.". Their is a nod "Fresnel", connected. I deleted that. and this is the result.
And....restored background and floor. Deleted lights (only emission/blackbody) and this is the result.
My Superfly settings.
Followed those 3 bullets "

Looks okay now. Was a nod "Fresnel" connected to "Fac". Delete that for light bulb. Now, will try "seachnasaigh", render settings.
You have the max bounces set less than the min bounces. Set max bounces to 16, and max transparency bounces to 16. If that glass shader uses refraction, then the transmission bounces=2 will cause blackout. Try 8.
I've got a light bulb mesh built, and the server rack has finished Arrow1's test animations. I'll work up a lit bulb.

I've uploaded a pack (glowy demo props) with a lit lightbulb to freestuff; it's pending approval.
Bear in mind that for an "OFF" lightbulb, the glass material will be entirely different. My model uses two-sided glass, e.i., the glass mesh has thickness; I'd recommend Bagginsbill's "tricky glass" for Superfly renders of the bulb when "OFF".

Now that will be kewl. Waiting to see results. If you look up (YouTube) "Beginner Blender Modelling Tutorial - Light bulb" By Blender Guru. I tried to do that in Poser. One thing I couldn't do is "Solidify". Poser is not a mesh making program (Only character creation). I do use Hexagon, and their isn't a option "Solidify" obtion. I just use one sided "Light bulb Glass" faces for glass (Clear). Lightbulb clear glass is one of the most difficult projects I encountered using Super fly. I could easily just emission the glass bulb and Black body temps. But I wanted the filament to be highlighted, and light the area. Then maybe I can add text, symbols to the glass. Not easy.
Urania has just started a Superfly test render of the "OFF" light bulb using Bagginsbill's tricky glass for the two-sided glass and Stefan's metal for the base.

Oh, snap. I just now noticed that you want a logo on the glass. I used an unmapped mesh with procedurals. ~cancels render~ OK, I'll UV unwrap the model and add a logo.

OK, using bagginsbill's tricky glass and Stefan's metal, this renders in Superfly without that blackout, if you use appropriate render settings and have a skydome/environment for the reflections to "see". The glass has thickness, i.e., it has both an outside surface and an inside surface.
I have uploaded it to the freestuff; pending approval.
I haven't tried illuminating the glass by applying strong emission to the filament; I suspect that the 1000x ambient/emission strength required would cause severe graininess. But I'll probably experiment as time permits.
In a real light bulb, the glass scatters/diffuses light from the filament, so the glass itself glows. That is how I set up the "ON" light bulb.

Anyone ever done lightbulb glass for superfly renders. I just can not get a good lightbulb texture for superfly.
