Subject: Naming items used in promo pictures.

C'mon Rendo, haven't we been through this at least a billion times already? I looked at the credits for the new cowboy outfit for G3F to see what character was being used and was disappointed to see nothing, not a darned blessed thing listed. I then continued looking through the new items and was intrigued by the horror-hostess-dress. I noticed that every single item used in the promo pictures was listed. While this didn't sway my decision to buy it (which I did...twenty bucks Canadian, Ouch!) it was a darned nice touch. Please...will you bloody puh-lease get your act together on this. It's been mentioned a zillion times already. Are you all asleep at the switch?

I can't say for sure, but I wouldn't only blame Renderosity for that. I, too, would love to see more credits given when looking at products in the store, but it's the vendor who decides whether to include that information or not.

That said, can Renderosity force vendors to include that information when they first upload it, I would assume it might be possible, but have not a clue as to how easy/hard it would be to implement.

We strongly encourage vendors to add promo credits...but as you can see not everyone does. We wish more would do so as well.

You can't force people to give credit for their promos - especially if what they are using doesn't come 100% from the marketplace. Some vendors use certain models that they consider their trademark so their work is easily recognized, they do not wish to share the info on those and nobody can force them to!

Since credits are not obligatory in the gallery you most definitely can not demand from vendors to give you full credit of their promo work! It's their tool for selling after all! They can show you how good the product can be.. from there on.. it's up to you explore and reach their own level of presentation! :)

While Rendo can't force the issue, one of the results of having the credits are increased sales for those items. Perhaps you should turn those credits into clickable links, and offer Vendors a small percentage of the sale when they generate one. That would give them the incentive to include the information, as well as probably increase overall sales.

Do you mean the cowboy outfit for G3 by Rainbowlight? I'm pretty sure he's using the base Victoria 7 textures & shape there ;-)

Sorry jennblake but it's YOUR store, YOU tell vendors what to do. Make it a requirement, it's simple.

Nothing is ever that simple. Best bet is a quick note to the vendor, I think.

Sorry jennblake but it's YOUR store, YOU tell vendors what to do. Make it a requirement, it's simple.

It's not that simple because:

A. Not all used items are from Rendo and it's against policy to link to outside stores. B. If a vendor purchases something they are under NO obligation to create advertising for other vendors - those links are indeed advertising. C. Some vendors use a LOT of items and/or "kit bash" by using pieces of various sets to create a variety of looks. For example I've been known to use multiple hair products plus a separate shader system just to get a particular hair style, add accessories, poses, backgrounds, lights, and a different look for each image for a character and that can get out of control. Frankly many don't earn a lot per product for the time spent on the creation, now you want them to keep track and then list all the items as well? Creating the product pages can be pretty time consuming without adding yet another listing. D. Some vendors use items to create unique looks, they don't want to list the items because they don't want to be copied. Or perhaps what they use is not publicly available.

In this particular case the skin and character used was the default Victoria 8. (I typo'ed 7 when I meant 8 above)

The horror Hostess Dress does not actually show all of the products used in the promos. Only the figure shapes - as does the Cowboy outfit. It lists the hair and the character because they share a creator.
