Subject: Shrink one mesh against another?

Poser 11 ... is there a way to use the morph brush tool or a script or ? to force one mesh (for instance a skull cap) against another (for instance the head of a character) and control the offset and without poke-through?

Yes, use the morph brush tighten fit option. Set the goal to the figure you want to fit and set poke through margin to .0002 or .0004
