That is a really cool looking render you do have that flair for unique designs I must say

Thank you very much, Lobo. I've been using Eevee for most of my animated sequences for a while now and it's surprisingly powerful and reliable. The only downside is that you really need to have a beefy GPU to see the true benefits of the engine. Also, there's no shadow catcher shader for Eevee yet, which is a problem for certain compositing jobs. Otherwise, the rendering is very fast, and the features are extremely deep. I dare say even more beneficial than Marmoset Toolbag for realistic, real-time rendering.

I have only tried the new Blender build to try and get familiar with the interface and where things are have not jumped in fully as of yet have been a bit under the weather health wise but hope to get into exploring more soon. Speaking of beefy GPU I have a GTX 980 Ti GPU RAM 6 GB plan on maybe upgrading later in the year but I should be able to hand most renders with that I hope.

Most importantly, I hope you are feeling better! I can relate in the way of health issues. I've been dealing with some problems over the last year or so myself. I sincerely wish you the best and hope you stay healthy. The cores in your 980 ti should be fast. While clock speed is different, the number of cores is around the same as my 1070. The only concern might be the 6gb or ram. I'm working with 8gb and have experienced some issues handling larger textures or procedural nodes(usually good until i use 4k textures).

I have heard about some issues with handling 4K textures in EEVEE and my card but now that card prices have become a little more reasonable in price I have been following the news and specs on some of the newer GPU's and saving pennies to see what I might be able to treat my self with later in the year. Yes health issues suck and getting older they seem to become worse to deal with hell took me almost 3 weeks to get over the Flu and this is the first time in the last 13 years that I have had the flu and no I do not take flu shots they usually make me get the flu more often lol. and thank you for well wishes truly appreciate it.

Great looking anim - I'm mostly using Blender for modelling/uv-mapping but I'm looking forward to trying out more of its features in the future.

I have to say UV mapping was hard in other applications like Silo and Hexagon in Blender after watching some really good tutorials I think Blender has the easiest to learn UV mapping tools they just sort of click if that makes sense

^yeah, uv-mapping used to make no sense to me - it just wouldn't do what I told it LOL But after following a blender tut that wasn't just a cube (which even I could uv-map) it suddenly made sense. Now it's still time-consuming at times if I've got an awkward mesh but it's easy enough to do.

Yes it just clicked I got my start with Hexagon 2 many years ago and like you bring up UV mapping a cube for some reason no matter how many times I followed a hexagon tutorial on UV mapping a cube a simple cube lol I always wound up with curved or warped lines did it the same in Blender similar cube tutorial and it just came out right nice straight lines. And I am not knocking Hexagon at all but once you truly dive into Blender things just seem to come together

I figured I'd share this result with the group here. Just posted it to my gallery. The details about the render are in the video description. What I failed to mention was that while the frames took around 8 seconds per frame average, the 400 frame animation only took about 45 minutes to render as a whole.

I've been using Eevee more and more now for motion graphics and HD animation in general. Aside from a few hiccups here and there, it's proven to be fairly reliable for production.
