Subject: Clarification on "Terms of Service" for gallery needed

T0mcat00 ( ) posted Tue, 23 April 2019 at 4:47 AM · edited Sun, 19 January 2025 at 10:10 PM

As I was hit by the Ban Hammer recently, I need to make sure not to put anything in my Rendo Gallery in future, which might get me permanently banned. So I had a closer look at the "Terms of Service" and now I'm quite befuddled about what would be allowed to be posted to the gallery and what wouldn't. Exchanging posts with one of the censors.. sorry.. Moderators was no real help either, as the answer was kinda like "it depends..."

So here I will give some examples of stuff that I might want to post sometime in the future, but that need to be cleared first. Please check the Terms of Service [here]https://www.renderosity.com/mod/wiki/?policies&terms so You can see what I'm writing about below.

One of my pictures that got censored away showed a nude female licking the tip of a carrot. When asking the moderator about the reason for the censoring I didn't get a real answer. And there wasn't any clarification if the picture would have been okay if it had been an ice cream cone the female had licked. Or if it had been a male that did the licking of the carrot/ice cream cone. Or if licking anything at all would be considered porn automatically, because the female tongue was considered part of her genitals.

"...any picture containing ...chains or handcuffs... to constrain a person is subject to review or removal" means to me, that I can't post a picture of a cop arresting someone by putting handcuffs on that person. Or at least I would risk to have that picture removed and get banned because the censor doesn't see what's happening in the picture, but only what his/her imagination says? A captive in a medieval prison chained to the wall... Sure worth to get banhammered away, right?

"image containing a ball gag.." So how about a ring gag? Or a piece of cloth stuffed in the mouth? Banhammer or not?

"BDSM...." so... who defines BDSM? A girl in a kinky maid outfit getting verbally reprimanded by her "master" clearly defines as BDSM for me, or doesn't it? Banhammer for it?

A bunch of shinto followers carrying around a big - 5 feet tall - male reproduction organ... porn or religous freedom? (google Kanamara-Matsui for details)

A picture depicting some fetish clad persons using waterpistols in the form of male reproduction organs to sprinkle the watching crowd at a Christopher Street Day parade in Berlin, Cologne or anywhere else... Porn?

So do I have to imagine every whatsoever deranged thought a censor might have to avoid getting banned for something that could be shown on TV in every civilized country of the world (with some exclusions due to different definitions of "civilized")?

Some clarification would be greatly appresiated. Until then I probably restrict myself to only posting nice fluffy bunnies - without carrots of course...

Welcome to confusion central. Its all subjective to the reviewer to start off with. So while one would say it's fine, another will so no it's against the rules

So good luck.

(Remember we live in a society where you can watch someone being graphically torn apart (the saw movies), shot (lethal weapon anyone?) But to see a naked body, even when it does not exist , as in polygons, is a taboo and no no.

Oh and here's a fun fact. In the UK, you can get married at 16, have kids, but you can't actually look while your doing the procedures to bring said kids into being because you can't look at porn until your 18. (Also you can do everything in said porn but you can't open your eyes until your 18....))

Yeah, I guess me being german and living in Germany is part of the problem. I also guess nothing what I have posted and what has been censored would raise an eyebrow around here. Fun fact: some bare boobs (or even full nudity, as long as male/female reproduction organs aren't visibly aroused) would be no reason for people to faint when on a magazine cover, even when they would be visible for kids. Stuff like that can be seen regular on TV even in the afternoon program. Saw movies though are regulated hard and get a "18 upwards" advisory or would be heavily edited.

I agree, it's a ridiculous situation. Banal pinup nudes are fine here. Anything more will be easier to show on a site with looser terms of service.

Well, a nude girl licking a carrot like it was an ice cream cone is - in my not so humble opinion - about as banal a pinup as can be.. still it got removed. I wonder what would have happened if I had her biting into a sausage... with some mustart squirting out of her mouth...

To me it seems, as if these censors have some severe problems, seeing dirty things where there aren't really any. "Oooooh... that carrot looks somehow like a male reproduction organ.. better censor it away before some helpless child sees it... doesn't matter that it's hidden behind a nudity tag." facepalm

Everyone licks Ice-cream cones. Not everyone gets butt ass naked to lick on carrots. Maybe thats why? Maybe their vegan? Didnt like the usage of the carrot? So removed it? Who knows

@T0mcat00: Maybe the carrot was too suggestive. It might be best to avoid pointy or curved fruits and vegetables. Are bananas, carrots, cucumbers, zucchinis and other related squash forbidden? No idea. Sorry that happened to you. Try not to get banned.

Well, "They" should know... and be able to explain the reason, instead of just removing it with a remark to the "Terms of Service" in which Carrots aren't even mentioned.

Yeah, carrots are totally suggestive... every time when I'm at the supermarket and go past the vegetables and I see a carrot I think "Oh my, doesn't that look exactly like a male reproduction organ?" And no, I will not go through the test of which vegetables are allowed to be licked by Rendo Censorship Rules... too risky... that's the reason why I made this post to get a definitive answer about what would be lickable within the rules (and other stuff.. see post #1)

You're not supposed to go through the list. It was rhetorical. Droll humor lost in translation. Official response MIA. My unofficial answer is, avoid pointy or curved fruits and vegetables and don't get banned.

Ah, no... no humor was lost... except maybe in my answer, which was what I think of as "funny" ^^ And I guess I will not only avoinf pointy fruits and vegetables, but everything pointy, whatever material it may be and adding to that no licking at all. Not even for the utterly funny "I licked a lamppost in the freezing cold and my tongue got stuck" scene. As I wrote earlier... lots of fluffy bunnies, but without carrots... ^^

It's the lack of inflection. Over beers, no problem! Over the internet? 😇😈 You can do the lamp post gag, if the girl is wearing a parka. 😆

I think that a banned item can be appealed to management.

in the comics recently a man Herman was looking at a statue with his wife and a couple of their children and the name was a female nude. his wife asked should their children be looking at it? it had no resemblance to the human form which shows the tongue in cheek censorship of religious and non religious factions that shove their idea of censorship down people throats . wait, that maybe considered porn

i, too, have been confused over bits of the ToS, esp. since the Marketplace here sells things for bannable [yea, it's a word now because i say so] usage/situations, like chains, like pole dancing stuff, etc... it strikes me as, um, [fill in my thought]...

T0mcat00 ( ) posted Thu, 25 April 2019 at 4:21 AM

Thursday now... 130 or so views... still no "official" answer?

I was told - with the ban message - that I should ask the censors before putting up a picture in the gallery if it would be "safe" or not. If it would also take a couple of days to get an answer, I don't think that would really be an option...
