Subject: WEIRD: Figure loads unposed but with a

What the heck is going on, and how can I fix it? I'm doing a series of images with a dragon as a central figure. Now, after working for more than a year, suddenly I'm getting this weird problem:

  • Scene loads
  • Dragon loads, but unposed and unmorphed
  • And I can see a "ghost" of the posed figure below it.

I've attached a screenshot so you can see what's going on in Poser Pro 11 (Windows 10).

Is this imported with DSON? To check whether there may be a corruption of the scene file, do you have an older saved version from before the problem started that you could load to check?

If that works OK, it would probably imply some minor corruption of the scene file. If that also fails, I would be looking at system resources and available memory.

Thanks for the reply. I have about 10 different, earlier versions of the file, including one with just the dragon in it. They all return the same error. Also, I have 32 GB of RAM. I doubt it's a systems resource issue. I tried importing the scene into Daz Studio and got a DSON error, so I think that is it.

Going to look into reinstalling the DSON plug-in and see how it goes.

It was DSON.

Using the Windows 10 Control Panel (Apps), I uninstalled the DSON Importer for Poser. I then rebooted the computer. Downloaded the DSON importer EXE file from my Products directory at the Daz site. Then installed it again.

And that fixed the problem.

Hooray! :-D

ETA: Others have mentioned that DSON can occasionally suffer from a corrupted cache, which may not get cleared simply by rebooting Poser, but require a machine reboot. Reinstalling DSON would probably have the same effect, though. Glad it's sorted.

Thanks for that tip. I had already done a reboot (twice) and that had not fixed it. I guess I had really messed things up, somehow.
