Subject: Trying to Install PP11 Getting Access Denied

goldie ( ) posted Wed, 24 July 2019 at 2:57 PM ยท edited Tue, 19 November 2024 at 6:07 AM

Just purchased PP11 and I'm trying to install it but get this message:

access denied.jpg

So what am I supposed to do...I did click on the install file to act as administrator, still no joy...Windows 7.

Try closing the download manager. Go to the folder it is installed in, find the .exe file that opens the download manager and right click and run as administrator. It sounds like a permissions issue on your local machine. If this does not work, come back with some more details, such as operating system, anti-virus installed...etc. Please.

Thanks, Jenn, for getting back to me...I clicked every pertinent file to be run as administrator, turned off Windows Firewall...still getting the no access...

Running Windows 7, Have Defender running, avast anti-virus but that's turned off...that's it. Could the defender be causing the problem?

Found this for you HERE

See if this helps? it is just a windows 7 issue. Not sure defender would have anything to do with it. Is your account you login to on the computer an ADMINISTRATOR account?

I tried the command--did not work...checked my folders and exe files involved and I have admin access...but I do not login as administrator, don't even know how that's done...

Just checked User Accounts and I do login as administrator...

I found another video and this one was a little more complete since it stated that had to restart machine...so now I have the admin icon for a login...tried that and still have no access...

Okie dokie...after umpteen tries, finally got it to work in admin mode...this time I redowned the file to start fresh...guess I have to do the admin thing each time I want to download something for Poser. Was ready to ask for a refund...many thanks for your help though...I never would have figured out how to attack this problem without your suggestions...
