Was there ever a separate David 4 character from DAZ or a morph of Michael 4?

AmbientShade ( ) posted Sun, 04 August 2019 at 3:49 PM

Nope.

The closest to a David 4 would be Hiro 4's 'realistic' morphs, which aren't all that realistic. But combine them with some M4 morphs and you can probably get close.

Thank you. I just checked my DAZ purchases and all the David 3 stuff is missing now.

Re. missing D3 stuff: Get hold of customer support if you'd purchased it, because it's still in the store and for sale.

The David in the store is just the base, there are no head and body morphs included. I do have all the D3 stuff backed up on DVDs but they are .sit files and I can't open them with Mac High Sierra anymore. I'll have to dig out my old computer with an older system.

Daz did the same thing with the original V4 stuff. They replaced all of them in my purchase history with V4.2. I have about 18 years of backup DVDs.

I would suggest a backup drive ... much easier than disks. I'm a bit of an anomaly. I have all my runtimes from Poser 4 on available in P11 ... never know what I might need, but the runtimes are all on a separate drive. There are other compression programs out there, some of which free that I'm sure can open your sit files. Good luck and let us know how this works out for you, in case others have a similar situation.

I do use a backup drive. Its just that years ago I backed up all my purchases on DVDs. I was at DAZ when it was still Zygote! Years ago DAZ decided to change their format from Mac SIT/installer to plain zips. I had thousands of things to download but there were too many so I downloaded them as I came across them. My new system won't run the VISE installers anymore. I set up an old computer yesterday so now I can expand them, install to a dummy runtime, then zip.

If you still have the same account at DAZ as when you purchased the items you should still be able to download them. I just checked and although the head and body morphs are no longer on sale my product library gave me a download link to them.

I just downloaded a couple and tried them out. It seems that when they changed to the zip format they changed the name from David 3 to just David. I still have some listed as David 3 but most are not now.
