This question is concerning Renderosity and its endorsement of a free centralized "character model" in which the entire community can participate in producing qualitative and reseller content for.

The Question: "Is there a store supported, collaborative (Gitlab, Github, etc.) free character model with an open source EULA license?"

The VRoid concept is the one you're looking for. Unfortunately for those of you who do not like the genre, only anime-style characters.
