Not sure if this is known by newer users to Poser. You can use the file search function of Windows Explorer (assuming you are using that Os) and then drag and drop that item into the Poser window.

That's interesting as I didn't know you could do that. I set up my PP11.2 Library as an External Library, which I view in my browser. I tried drag and drop from there, and it does work, though I don't usually use that method to add things to my scenes..

If I'm not mistaken, that is mentioned in the manual.

More than likely, but I wonder how many Poser users look at the manual unless they're having a problem getting something done. I know I rarely look at it.

About the manual ... funny story ... I've always had issues with manuals as many of you have ... and frankly was impressed with Poser 6's manual ... so much so that I thanked the writer, Anthony Hernandez for doing such a good job. He and I are still friends and have even done some work together (i.e. I drew an illustration for the cover of one of his books). The core of the manual is still based on his original text.

That's good to know Boni, but if I check the manual at all, it's usually about one of the "new" aspects that's come out with the newest version of Poser, such as the External Library that didn't come about until version 11.

Per 'drag 'n' drop', it's how I prefer to do things. Setting up an 'external library' is much more convoluted than I'd like, and far from intuitive. Also, with half-a-Terabyte of CAD & Poser-related 'stuff' ranging from P3 to this afternoon, I'd never keep the laden library straight. Instead, I've an 'E:' drive with a bunch of folder trees, each group or category with lots of folders, each with my 350x350 folder.jpg, the original zip, some promo pics, a nik-note if necessary and the essential runtime. This may hold just one download, or a sprawling product set of props, poses and textures...

One 'gotcha': If you 'DnD' into your workspace, Poser may not find the associated textures etc, so prompts for them. Yet, many years along from when this first bugged me in P4, it still often hides the first few characters of each sought file's name off the left of input field. Must left-arrow to show. So very, very silly...

And, yes, I've reported this quirk in the official wish-list thread.

FWIW, this PC runs 3½ displays, the last being 'Ye Olde DeskToppe PC' screen via a KVM. Being a 'trad' 1280x1024, it is a handy shape for the Poser manual...
