Subject: creating prop lights

Is it possible in poser 11 pro to create a prop light. Am wanting a scene to look natural as if your viewing it with the lighting in that room. a ceiling light, a table or wall light, an overhead florescence light. A spot does not give the right kind of light, an area light will not give the back lighting behind the overhead lamp, a point light won't show through the transparent lamp shade enough to light the room without ruining the design on the shade. so how can you create a room light that works and gives the correct shadows?

I have many scenes in my head, but non of those are on paper.

Yes it can be done.
On the properties panel of the prop ensure the "Light emitter" option is enabled.
If using Firefly the ambient channel can be used to control light colour and intensity. IIRC it may also be necessary to have indirect light enabled in the render options.
If using Superfly there is an emission cycles node or if using the physical surface node there is an emission colour and intensity.

Thanks, will play with it and see what happens. if it works, you have solved a problem that have had for years.

Colour can be set using the surface nodes Emission parameter and EmissionStrength to set the intensity.

I've played around with this feature since it was introduced. Keep in mind you will get some "sparkles" in Superfly and will need to raise the samples and make adjustments to reduce the effect.
