Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 24 6:13 pm)
When I started animating, I started using Vue as my end stage because it not only produced a much more realistic exterior, but the environment was dynamic. Then there was the fact that Vue has one of the more stable network rendering schemes. I still have far more luck with the rendercows than with the queue manager. When I have Infinite installed, it also permitted me to output renders in layers, so they could go straight into composting.
The reason Vue bogs down when handling Poser animations is that Vue is literally running Poser within itself. That can get to be a big load very fast, particularly with the Poser texture sizes. Re-texturing with Vue assets, or Vue friendly assets, can speed up rendering.
As far as 'other programs', there really isn't one that supports Poser Native formats. You can do FBX, but the caveat there is that the FBX standard has a lot of flex to it. Most animation houses have to write their own exporters because while it gets the geometry and textures and basic animation data, things like morphs or dynamics has to be coded for. Well, aside from Octane for Poser. Iclone with 3DXchange can do some talking with Poser, but what I've used it for is importing the .obj set files, animate a figure through the set, export the bvh, then import it into Poser where the same scene is duplicated, so the Poser figure can move through the set. The importers to Max and LW have been abandoned.
From the little bit of playing I've done yes, you can use Poser to render its own animations. The problem is that most of Poser is still single threaded. The render engines are mostly multi threaded, but things like hair and cloth and physics seem to be single thread, so those can slow down your time per frame.
As for LaFemme. The only Vue that can import her is the for pay versions of Vue, as that is the only one with the latest Poser SDK. You can still import -other- figures with 11.3, but there's something about LF that doesn't play well with the previous Vue Infinite's sdk's. Probably the control chips.
Many thsnls for your honest reply.I guess Poser Pro 11.3 and Vue 16 Infinite is still the answer for me! Cheers

I wonder if you can export from Poser to Blender? Cheers

What is the state of the FBX export from poser.??
If it is as good as the Daz Studio exporter you should be able to get results like this.
No cost to try. ?

What Wolf said.
Also, keep in mind that Poser has avoided the encrypted proprietary format nonsense that others have embraced. So from that end, it is easier to write and exporter, as you are dealing with .obj geometry files, and the rest is pretty much text files. The issue there is knowing the gotchas of the software taking the import. That either requires access to the sdk for that information (usually $$$$$), or reverse engineering, which is usually a hassle.

I do not want to start a verbal war here! I would like some information. Is Poser Pro 11.3 OK for rendering animations with figures? Reading various forums it seems to me that a lot of users render their animations in other programs.I have been user Poser since version 4 and DAZ Studio since it conception and Vue Infinite 2016. All of these programs seem to me to handle animated images very slow! If an animation is created in Poser say with La Femme Pro.How do you get the entire animation into other programs>? I know that in the case of Vue a PZ3 can be imported but what about other programs for rendering? I hope this query makes sense? Cheers
