Subject: Errors when trying to run XL - Content Library for Poser on P11 Pro v11.3

digitalpanther ( ) posted Fri, 26 June 2020 at 10:14 AM · edited Tue, 26 November 2024 at 3:03 AM

I purchased and installed XL - Content Library for Poser (in the Renderosity market) with the hope of using it to import and use Genesis 8 figures from Daz. I get errors when trying to open the scripts in Poser Pro 11 (v11.3)

When I run XL I get the following error:

BEGIN PASTE XL

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "C:GrafikPoser 10 Pro 64RuntimePythonposerScriptsScriptsMenuDimension3DXL.py", line 3059, in
  File "C:GrafikPoser 10 Pro 64RuntimePythonposerScriptsScriptsMenuDimension3DXL.py", line 3057, in main

  File "C:GrafikPoser 10 Pro 64RuntimePythonposerScriptsScriptsMenuDimension3DXL.py", line 26, in __init__

  File "C:GrafikPoser 10 Pro 64RuntimePythonposerScriptsScriptsMenuDimension3DXL.py", line 140, in __init__

IndexError: list index out of range

END PASTE XL

When I run XL_P8 I get the following Error:

BEGIN PASTE XL_P8

RuntimeError: Bad magic number in .pyc file

END PASTE XL_P8

I don't know where or what the referenced folders are since my Poser install is on "D:3DPoser 11" , with my primary Runtime pointing to "D:3DPoser RuntimesPoser 11 Content" ( I have segregated my poser content by type and or base fig for organization reasons). However if I recall correctly the XL script is for earlier versions of Poser prior to v8.

Any suggestions that don't involve completely uninstalling and reinstalling Poser?

Thanks in advance -DP

Edit: apparently the posting system doesn't like back slashes.

There are a number of scripts that were broken with the Poser 11 latest updates. I would recommend that you d/l and install AVFix by Snarly, and run it before attempting to run XL. AVFix seems to correct some, but not all, earlier scripts. Be aware, that once the next iteration of Poser is released (Poser 12), many Python Scripts may no longer function due to the new Python 3 version.

It worked! That got the script to load and I was able to bring in a G8 figure...now If I can get it to behave once imported. Not script related though. Thank you hborre! I appreciate it. -DP

Online Now!

Ya know.. This issue has been brought up so many time in the forums now, you'd think they would sticky a message leading to that fix, so it wouldn't have to be kept repeating.

Consider me insane if you wish, but is your reality any better?

I'm with you on that. It's a pain just remembering what it was called, and then searching for it on Google.

For some reason I couldn't find it with the search terms I used. I fully agree a sticky on it (if it is that common a question) would be really helpful for other users. Thank you again for the assistance. It is greatly appreciated

Now to get the poses to not cause the figures to shatter.... -DP
