assuming the edge of the flag is against the pole, use the choreograph group in the cloth room and add the edge against the pole
This is just a cylinder and a hires square
here's the square draped without any wind

Thank you for the link to the tutorial, that looks like what I remember so I'll give it a go. Hi Redphantom, yes, I'd remembered the Edit Choreographed bit its just I can't (couldn't) get the flag to stick to the pole. I was using a hi res square and a cylinder too. My flag kept falling to the floor.
No need to connect flag facets to the pole. Any facets in the 'choreographed' group will stay with and move with the origin of the flag. A few facets on the corners next to the pole will do. If you parent the flag to the pole, it will move with the pole while you can still make the offset. Flags are not normally connected to poles but to a wire connected to the pole. Make sure to use high stretch and shear stiffness but low bending stiffness.

I know I did this ages ago because I made some curtains that blew around in the wind but for the life of me I can't remember how. I've got how the cloth room works sort of but I can't remember how to attach the flag to the flagpole. I remember I did the curtains by attaching sections of them to the curtain pole but can't remember how. I thought there was a tutorial but can't seem to find it. Anyone able to give me a pointer in the right direction? I'll give you a wave of me flag if I get it to work! Cheers!
