Subject: DSON Error?

Anyone recognize this when starting up Poser? I'm using Poser 12 now. Any fixes or need to fix? The only issues it seems to give are if I try to load something that is for DAZ and also Poser.

"An error occurred importing addon dson : ERROR: Module use of python27.dll conflicts with this version of Python."

That error is because Poser 12 uses a newer version of Python. None of the old Poser scripts work. (Though some are being fixed.)

DSON doesn't work with Poser 12, and DAZ doesn't seem interested in updating it. There's more information in the Poser 12 forum. Basically, if you want to use DSON, use an earlier version of Poser.

If you just want to get rid of the error message, there's some information here:

You can set things up so you can still use DSON in Poser 11, and won't get error messages in Poser 12.

Thanks randym77. I'm using DAZ now too, so if I need DAZ products that bad I'll use Studio. Thanks again.

I despaired of DS' UI and DSON, have been using D3D's $$ DSF Toolbox to export DSF props to OBJ.

Couple of 'gotchas': I've yet to figure how to include morphs, and sometimes is 'non-trivial' to associate textures with materials.

But, to my surprise, you may 'un-pack' DSF or DUF with eg 7zip, then open the 'un-typed' file as 'indented text' with eg Wordpad. DUF files usually hold materials' texture calls near the start...
