does Poser12 natively support triax weighmapping, without relying on 3rd party plugin?

I think the answers to all your questions is "no," but you might try asking the Poser 12 forum.

If you're using PoserPro 12, there have been a lot of upgrades, but you can get most of them in Poser 11 (currently available again, for a few more days). Including La Femme and a bunch of other free content.

Poser 12 uses a new version of Python (necessary because Python 2 reached its end of life). That means the old Python scripts no longer work unless they are upgraded. DAZ has indicated that DSON will not be fixed. So expect less Genesis compatibility, not more. And Poserfusion is no more.

There's a 21 day free trial. (Just download and install - if you decide to buy it, you can put in your serial. If not, it will stop working after 21 days.)

theres been a few genesis blow out sales over the years. have much investment in the old genesis stuff.

i was looking forward to la femme, but would be as a bonus figure. genesis in poser very important consideration to me.

and the fear poser would suddenly stop working looking for re activation, serious consideration. my workstation not online. a boot sector virus taught me a lesson i'll never forget.

The "phone home" feature is not popular, but Bondware seems to be married to it. Perhaps because they're hoping to integrate the Renderosity store very tightly with Poser. (Terrible idea, IMO. I hated it with Content Paradise and Cornucopia3D.)

It appears the plan for the future is using FBX to import and export to other software, but it doesn't work very well yet.

Keep your old copy of P11 working because you'll need it for Genesis.

Not me. I don't use Genesis. DAZ Studio just wouldn't run on my computer when it first came out, and I never got into DS or Genesis. Just as well. I spend enough on Poser!

I did try using Poser 12's FBX with Blender, and the results were not good.
