i tried miki3, but she just crumples. which i guessing is the joint "capsules"

No, I have never tried La Femme in Carrara.

Once upon a time I was thinking about buying Miki 3. Guess I'm glad I didn't. You say she "crumples." Do you mean she folds up or something weird happens?

The last Poser people I tried successfully in Carrara were the ones that came with Poser 7.

weirdness. remember when carrara used to ask if wanted to import without deformers? bending Aiko 4's arms used to make shoulders crumple.

actually never did try miki3 without deformers. i deleted all the deformers off my Vicki4, solved some carrara bend issues and made her load faster in both carrara and poser 7. deformers are like leeches.

still deciding if i want to install poser legacy content and save Sydney and her friends to carrara.

Believe it or not, I know nothing about deformers. I have heard you lot go on about them, but have never had the occasion to use them. I'm not sure if my Vicky 4 has deformers or not.

Sadly, most of my software learning has been "run & gun."

On my last rig I had Poser 7 loaded with all the legacy content. This rig I decided against that. I don't think I ever really used any of it last time. Some of it really could be useful, but I never did.
