I just downloaded Poser12. When I open my libraries, everything is "fuzzy" and pixelated. The issue goes away when I scroll my cursor over it, but it's still a little annoying. Anyone else have this or an idea why it's happening?

Moving this to Poser 12 forum

I haven't seen any issues on my systems nor have I seen any other posts concerning fuzziness. If you haven't rebooted your system then I would suggest you do. Otherwise, if it persists reinstall the software. I am assuming that you have a typical setup and no unusual settings. Also, make sure that your drivers are up to date. Again, this is granted that you are not seeing this in any other application and your system is trouble-free.

Please update your graphics driver.

Either graphics driver problem or you are somehow in a color mode without enough colors.

Poser 12 Library does not return to width settings last used. Granted it's irritating, an annoyance, to have to stretch out to 5 wide instead of 1 wide. Every. Launch. Of. Poser 12.

On my Windows platform, the Library returns to its previous position and size: on the 3rd screen, on the right, the middle one being the main screen. His size and position are written in a file called "Poser UI Prefs_1920x1080.xml", 1920 and 1080 being the screen's definition, replace with yours The file is located on Poser's folder, on a Windows platform: %AppData%\Poser\12

Though it keeps putting the vertical separator far on the right of its inner window... 2021-03-14_01h46_45.png

You should check that you have only one file, located in the right folder, and no other one. And you should be able to write something in it. Note that this file is important, because wrong values tend to move the different tools windows at wrong places. As a last resort: rename/move it eslewhere, this will restore Poser to its default interface. And once all tools windows are correctly placed in each room, save it elsewhere.

Ah RIGHT! Yes, to straighten the issue out; The main Library window does remember its size and position, even goes to the correct monitor. I am using Win 10 Pro 64. Here is a screen cap looking remarkably similar to yours. The vertical bar should stay where we put it. It isn't. Grrr. I didn't see anything in that XML file about the Library panel. And from what you said, that doesn't cover the vertical bar. And, that's what the annoyance is. Poser12-libraryProblem.jpg So thanks for straightening me out there. :)

I noticed that this is occurring with the latest build release. I would report it as a bug because it's a new unintended behavior. It is also affecting the P11 Library, same behavior.

McGrandpa ( ) posted Sun, 14 March 2021 at 5:47 PM

Now that Poser is in new hands, how/where DO we report issues?

Go to Support on the upper right hand and select Support Website to fill out a ticket. Try to include an image of the problem and do mention that other users are experiencing the same changes.

McGrandpa ( ) posted Sun, 14 March 2021 at 10:50 PM

;ok I did that, and have no indication the image files were even accepted. Poor grade site. I also realized the horizontal bar separator position is also not kept. Reported that in the issue too.

Update. We are not likely to see anything done with this issue.

After posting the issue at the Poser Support Site, they sicced their front man from forever on it.

Hello

Let me know if this is only an issue with a Floating Library. Avatar Michael McCollum posted 3/18/21 11:22 PM

What do you mean "FLOATING LIBRARY"? That don't matter, it's the LIBRARY PANEL that comes as part of Poser 12.

It is NOT docked to the main program if that is what you mean, John Csaky. If you want to know if it happens while it is docked, then you try it and see. I don't have room for that.]]

They also do NOT email me with notice there is an update on the ticket. I just wondered if they even accepted the ticket, went back and checked. That Csaky is on it tells me a story unto itself. Nothing is going to be done.

The system does send out email updates about support tickets, including when you first submit them. But automatic emails like that are highly prone to getting caught in spam filters.

Personally, I've seen a pretty good response rate, up to the point they are able to replicate the issue. Not always good communication between that point and the point where it is fixed in a new release. But things are getting fixed, which is the important part.

McGrandpa ( ) posted Sat, 20 March 2021 at 10:19 AM

there are no notifications from them at all. I checked back and they closed my ticket. Said it was a known issue to be corrected in a future patch release.

I’ve followed this discussion but held off posting because I (1) haven’t posted before, and (2) thought the matter would resolve itself, which it seems to be doing. Nonetheless, I am now providing insight that may alleviate lingering concerns. The issue McG and others alluded to arose in version 12.0.396. Prior to that (including Poser 11), the library would return to its default settings if Poser crashed (for me, this occurred mainly during Firefly renders). If Poser closed out normally, the library retained custom setting upon relaunch.

For reference, I used an external library (Microsoft Edge) in Poser 11, which did not experience these problems. As that option appears unavailable in Poser 12, I have the Poser library floating on a second monitor.

Beginning with 12.0.396, the library returned to its default settings regardless of whether it previously closed properly. When that continued in 12.0.427, I submitted a support ticket (thanks to hborre providing the hyperlink). I did this late in the day (US Mountain Twilight Zone). The very next morning, I received an EML from Support saying the issue would be addressed in an upcoming update. Support asked whether the issue occurred only on the second monitor. I found that it also occurred if the library floated on the first monitor. I sent various screen captures. Support’s Q to McG about whether the issue occurs with docked libraries strikes me as a reasonable attempt to narrow the problem. In short, I agree with Chromestar—the folks behind Poser are taking reported issues seriously and working on resolutions. – Just my contribution to the marketplace of ideas.

The "support team" is still totally secretive about what they are doing. We get brushed off. While I am fond of Poser itself I am not fond of the lack of treatment we get.

Resigning from use of Bondware Poser (pick a version). Issues not tended appropriately: Poser will not run without an Internet connection.
Poser will no longer load; the long established use of Genesis and Genesis 2 Figures and DAZ content.
Poser Library will not retain position, size and separator locations. The End
