Subject: problems external runtimes

aqua1955 ( ) posted Fri, 21 May 2021 at 4:59 PM · edited Wed, 13 November 2024 at 10:09 AM

I have problems in poser 12 with the former and new version to detect my files inside the runtimes. Although I add the runtime, in this case M4, it takes me back to a former directory. There it does something strange. To every file I want to add or want to morph or pose, I get a popup that shows as in the picture. It says "com.obj" Before the file is placed, I have to add it twice. In the picture I add the file "blMilMan_m4b.obj", which would set Michael 4 inside my poser. It uses though some former files I used. I did not use poser for a long time, but I think this should not be. Please help me and tell me what to do. Today I deleted the former Poser 12 and Qmanager 12 and installed the new Poser files. Nothing changed! It is impossible to add the runtimes to poser 12, because it is a library build all through the years from poser 5 on. Hope you have a solution.2021-05-21.png

Question: are you trying to load a fully functional M4 or just the object file? The icon you are referring to is a cr2 file that calls on the object file as part of the figure. It appears to me that the cr2 reference path has changed or become overwritten. You can either reinstall M4 to correct the problem with a overwrite or manually edit the cr2 to point to the correct path. I do know that the cr2 should refer to blMilMan_m4b.obj on 3 instances within the file.

@ aqua1955

go to

    >Edit
    >General Preferences
    >Library
    >Set the dot in File Search to
    >Shallow

This might fix all your issues
