Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 24 9:54 am)
Fox-Mulder, do you know or has anyone heard what the hardware requirements are going to be for Vue 4.0? Additionally, while the article states that 4.0 can be purchased at e-on software's site, there is no such link for purchase. Am I missing an obvious link somewhere? As a very, very satisfied user of Vue 3.x, I have been looking all over for answers to the above questions. No responses from e-on to emails although it has been less than 24 hours. Unless Vue 4.0 is going to require a great deal more hardware than 3.x and if the Poser to Vue porting works smoothly, I think this will bury Corel's Bryce... if they ever decide to truly support Bryce, that is.
I don't know exactly what is happening myself but Lynn Fredricks, the U.S. based E-on rep who is based in Oregon has made some posts just today I think. I would suspect she or Mike will make some announcement as soon as it is officially available- as a ton of people are now ready and anxious to buy VUE 4... I'm sure Bryce 5 will have some nice new features, but having been a long-time Bryce user myself I think that their core render engine is really going to hold them back. VUE 4 promises a 40% speed increase over VUE 3.1, which is already very fast when you start throwing around a bunch of trees and plants- something that nearly chokes Bryce, especially with volumetric rendering on. (Vue 4 also promises an advanced level "2" version of their already extraordinary "Solid Growth" plant system)... The E-on software team is very small but they are hard-core fanatics about the program and seem to be throwing in the entire kitchen sink with VUE 4, especially with direct Poser scene imports and the upcoming MAC version. With Ray-Tracing, Terragen-type clouds, high quality real-looking plants- It's going to make VUE 4 a real killer-app for Poser users...
