Subject: how do you make clothing conform correctly?

i am in the middle of making a hooded monk robe, but i want to stop before i get too far ahead unless i can figure out how exactly you make it conform on a figure correctly? i understand you need parts to match the parts of the figure underneath... but how does it know how to center itself correctly, etc? thanks!!

Poser tries to lay the JP center points from the clothes on top of the center points for the base figure. That's why it's important to name both with the same body part names. And model the clothing so it covers the .obj file set at The "Zero" position. When you select "conform to". Poser looks at the JP locations for the base figure's .cr2 file and tries to put the clothing's JP's on top of them. This doesn't work exactly 100% perfect most of the time. And You'll need to play around a little bit with the JP center point locations of your clothing to get it to be perfect. ScottA

cool thanks! so it looks like if i use a human figure as a guide in my modeling program, i should be able to get it pretty close before it even imports to poser

Yup. Just make sure you use the .obj file that's in the geometries folder as your guide. It's already set at the "zero" position. ScottA
