You don't have to be in the hair room to save something as hair. Just make sure you're in the hair tab of your library. The difference between saving as a prop or as hair is it will have an internal name of figureHair.

I've been saving my own hair creations as PP2 for the longest time now. If moved them to Hair Room and changed the file extension to HR2, would it mean anything different for Poser ?
