must be hard times and the web service needs to be paid for I assume, I see them on my iPad too.
Not again! Here I was finally warming up to Rendo again. Every page refresh or page click I get a new intrusive infolinks add that I have to close. I think the DAZ/Poser ecosystems must be quite finacially stressed now??? I guess maybe it's time to finally go all in on Blender and leave the digital Barbie hobby behind. If this doesn't go away, I'll make a final few purchases and probably be done here.
(Yeah, I'm having a bad day/week/month/year. I have to work extra hours to make up for lost income and increasing prices, and now this hobby is getting hit with crazy schemes to increase profits here and at DAZ. I can understand the need to generate more revenue, but this IN YOUR FACE (sorry, not yelling, just an example of being in your face) advertising is an insult.)

I don't mind proper advertising. It is what it is. It's just that this particular placement is intrusive, when the banner ads are crowding into the viewable space, and require an action on our part. To either click on the ad, and visit the advertisers' page, or try to ex out the ad. My issue is that the ad remains on screen. Perhaps the admins should take a look at that.
IIRC Rendo tried this same thing with infolinks (or very similar) a year or two ago. It was in your face and very intrusive, just like this new pop-up is. There were a lot of complaints, and we were told they were just "testing" it. After about a month the annoying popups went away. I'm sort of willing to put up with these on free web sites, but honestly over the past few months the in your face advertising on many web sites (especially news and sports news websites) has increased to a point that it is simply unpleasant to visit.
I'm hoping this is another test that will go away, but I'm afraid it won't. This annoying popup on every page you visit here is simply way too intrusive for me (even when re-ordering your wish list you get a new popup). This is honestly a step to far for me right now. I guess I'll wait a day or two to see if this is intentional or an accident. But websites actually can make quite a bit of money annoying their users with infolinks adds, so it might be here to stay.

Whatever happens, platforms like Renderosity need to earn money. It's that simple. Having said that, I hope the admins are able to achieve a workable balance that enables them to earn profits, to allow the site to continue to offer services we rely on, but that is also sensitive to users' online experience. The risk for Renderosity is that it chases away a portion of their core community. It's a fine balance. I suspect that most of us will adapt and go on without making too much of a fuss. I for one, am happy I am not at the end of one of those corporate Zoom calls debating this very issue at rendo head office. LOL.
Agreed, they have to keep the lights on. I wonder if they even watch what is happening elsewhere? DAZ has increased prices and many people are unhappy with that. Additionally many people aren't happy with the their annual March Madness sale. I'm sure many are probably looking for alternative sites to purchase stuff, but these pop up infolink adds make Rendo feel a bit cheap and less desirable, possibly chasing the disgruntled customers right back to DAZ without giving this store a second look.
I know the adds make me not want to do any browsing here. Getting hit with a new popup with every click makes me hesitant to do anything, including looking at the store or my wish list. Hope it works out for Rendo because we need the competition, but I'm afraid it will dramatically reduce my visits and purchases here (not that I buy that much anywhere).

On my small tablet that I do all my web browsing and shopping on, it is impossible to click the tteeny tiny X to even just close these nasty pop ups. No matter how very carefully I click on the eensy X, I am clicked through to the advertiser’s page. This kind of thing I fear will be the end of Renderosity, not something that sustains it. I would hate to see it go.

I don't either, as I've not been seeing anything like this here on the Forums, or in the Store.I have no idea what's this all about... Hope they fix it for you.
I wonder if this is a Gallery issue.

OK . . . Where's my chocolate?
it does it on my iPad using Safari, Chrome on my PC is fine
yes I keep accidentally going to the site all in Spanish too trying to close it.
Well after years of resisting using an add blocker I just installed AdBlock Plus. Woohoo, no more annoying infolinks popups!!!

I am being seriously repelled by the ads. For some reason the ones on my Android device are in Spanish, a language I have never had any knowledge of. I am, with reluctance, prepared to put up with the tacky and unpleasant Hameleon ads within Renderosity, but having anything else is beyond the pale. I cannot load adblockers to my PC at work, so that means no Rendo at work during lunch break, and unless I can get it to work on my android device, that is the end of Rendo for me.

Noticed today intrusive ads are popping up when I go to Renderosity pages. Is is this new or is Renderosity now imposing this on users? Did I miss an announcement?
