DAZ Genesis+ Figures in Poser 12: Solutions and Work-Arounds

Thank you Hborre for sharing how to import G8 character in P12.

I already succeeded in importing G8F, pose & expressions.

But I failed to import clothes.

What's the problem?

What did I miss?

You appear to have two sets of clothes there. One set is conformed to the figure, the other is not and in its default pose. Can you expand on what you mean by "failed" to import?

It seems like there are two, but there is actually only one suit. It was strange, so I tried to open prop corner(?) and it was as follows.

I deleted thoes SETUP.

And then I posed. But the result was the same.

That's why I said I failed to import clothes.

It looks like it's actually imported twice. Once as a figure (shown in the same dropdown as Genesis 8 Female), and the other as a prop (shown in the same dropdown as where the Ground is shown).

What happens if you try to delete the prop versions? (the ones that are not conformed to the figure)?

Oh wait. You did.  That's really odd. I can't help you much with this, though, because I haven't tried to use Genesis figures in Poser in ages. I'm sorry I can't help you further on this.

Is the prop version on the figure? I.e. select the G8 figure, then look at the prop list.

Or, look in the hierarchy window.

That's all right DCArt.
Thank you so much for trying to help me.

Yes, there's prop version on the figure.

I finally reviewed the process to convert Genesis 8 Clothing to Poser and imported into P12 the sweatshirt combination as conforming clothing.  Below is the image of G8F with the outfit in a Poser 12 environment.  The clothing moves with G8F mostly with poke-throughs in extreme poses.  That doesn't surprise me.

Without knowing exactly how the outfit was generated for Poser, I will need to outline the process of how to prepare the clothing for export and then import it into Poser.  The original outfit is already rigged in TriAx Weight so in DS load the 2 pieces into the scene and make sure that both pieces show up as separate items in the hierarchy.   Save each piece as a Scene Subset in a temporary location.  These will be your DUF files.  Next, create the Poser Companion Files and designate the Poser runtime folder you wish to save as a CR2 figure.  In P11, navigate to the folder you exported the outfit to and load it into the scene.  Select each piece and save it back into the Library, generating a new OBJ when the window pops up.  Open P12 and load your G8F and conform the outfit to the figure.

I didn't encounter any problems throughout this process and the only issue I can imagine with the OP is that both a figure and a prop may have been generated when creating the Poser Companion Files.

@hborre Thank you for your kind explanation.
