Subject: Is there a Poser 12 and a Poser Pro 12?
Poser Pro 2012 was the Pro version of Poser 9. For a while Poser was released first the Non Pro Version then the Pro Version. Starting with Poser 9 they released both at the same time. And to tell the difference the pro version was named for the year of release or there abouts. So you had Poser Pro (Version 7) Poser Pro 2010 (Version 8) Poser Pro 2012 (Version 9) Poser Pro 2014 (Version 10) after that it just became Poser 11 and Poser Pro 11, until Renderosity bought the program and combine it to just the single version Poser 11.3 which has all the features of the Pro version. So the Current Version is Poser 12 released in 2020. And if you don't add the full name 2012 you could be confused. We will only have to go through this one more time when Poser 14 is released, sometime after Poser 13 sometime next year.

Ur... Richard60 Poser 14? already? the 13th version is still being tested... :smile:I believe he means eventually when Poser 14 does come out, we'll have mixups between 2014 and 14 like we are now with 2012 snd 12. There never was a 2013 version of Poser so we won't have issues with that

You 'll notice I said WHEN. And that should not be for a couple of more years at least. And yes, I am looking forward to 13 and what it will bring. That was always a problem with the naming for the year and the Non-Pro Poser. So Poser 12 is confused with 2012 and Poser 14 when it comes out in the future will be confused with 2014. only way around that would be to skip 14 and go straight to 15.

SmithMicro had a Poser Pro 11. Bondware decided to only have one version with the pro features so those with the original Poser 11 got an upgrade when they switched to the new version.

I do believe they said somewhere it would come first semester of 2023.They'd better release something soon. I'm starting to lose interest just waiting.

For clarification on Poser versions from Poser 8 and upward. And yes, it can get confusing. 8-)
Poser 8 released Aug 4 2009.
Poser Pro 2010 (which can basically be thought of as the Pro version of Poser 8) released March 2010
Poser 9 and Poser Pro 2012 (which can be thought of as the pro version of Poser 9) both released Sep 2011
Poser 10 and Poser Pro 2014 (which can be thought of as the pro version of Poser 10) both released May 2013
Poser 11 and Poser Pro 11 were both initially released in Nov 2015 by Smith Micro. Later, when acquired by Renderosity, Poser 11 incorporated all the pro features.
Poser 12 (not to be confused with Poser Pro 2012) is presently the current version of Poser.

A little confused about whether there is a Poser Pro 12 (vs just a Poser 12). When I look at the Posersoftware website I only see Poser 12 but there seem to be references to a Poser Pro 12 elsewhere. For example, in Renderosity's Marketplace / 3d Assets there is a filter under Software for Poser (see bottom of list on screen grab attached.)
