Subject: Poser 13 in Linux.

I just got a notice that Poser 13 is coming in March.

That means there is still time to ensure it works under Wine on Linux.

If it does, I'll get 10 friends to buy a copy. If not... I won't by one.

I'm 99% Blender on Linux now, and really just want to use my $10k+ 25 year old library.

Please think about it. It's not rocket science these days and you don't need native code to support Linux anymore.

Out of curiosity, do previous versions work under wine?  I "wine" some dev poser tools.  Not for Linux but for Mac.

Same here.  99% Blender on Mac with a runtime that fits your description.

There's a bunch of animation stuff pipelined over the next few years in Blender that will be cool.  I expect that within 2 years, it will be possible (possibly even relatively easy) to "skin" Blender into Poser.  Imagine Poser using Blender native files.  Mmmmmmm.  So far, using Poser legacy content in Blender is difficult, though.  Hoops within hoops.

I've written a Blender poser mesh add-on, that makes it easy to go back and forth with morphs.  But that's as far as I go.  I've considered writing some code to bring Poser characters directly from a file into Blender.  I hit resistance on translating weight maps and shelved it as "meh" since I have a lot of other things on which to spend my time :)

Wine on Mac. Didn't even think of that.
Sound like a good way for R'Osity to save some development cost.
Just mac the PC version work on Windows and Wine... BOOM works for everyone.

I haven't used previous version of Poser since 2007.
I would pay for upgrades on sale, but I JUST installed and started using Poser/DAZ again.

Some people have claimed bottles worked from them. Poser 11<.03 ran, but failed on trying to connect to home make the entire library fail. I couldn't load another figure.

I don't know about now, but if CR2's are still text editable (after unzipping them) then there is no reason a decent programmer couldn't create a CR2 importer.
One of the things I miss about Lightwave was Greenbrair's (sp) plugin for importing cr2s.
