I have my old copy CD of Vue d'sprit 4 .. Is there any way to load this onto my windows 10 desktop and get it to work ?? Id like to use it to make backgrounds for my Daz charecters .. I always liked the planets in this program ,, I know it is older than dirt..

Wow, yes.... Vue d'Esprit 4 was summer 2001. A 2020 note on The Internet Archive states of this... "works fine at least on Windows XP - on Windows 10 it says it's corrupt".

Planets and depth-fog atmosphere are indeed very good and very easy to make in Vue. Other free or one-time-purchase software can do it, true.... but who wants to wrestle with Terragen or Blender?

The only OS thing I can suggest is to haul an old PC from the attic, and get it up and running with Windows XP but keep it offline. I assume Vue d'Esprit 4 was pre 'online activation'.

You might also want to look at the 'Cosmos' issue of Digital Art Live magazine (#67), which surveyed the Photoshop plugin options for making planet / space backdrops. 

I believe you can also buy Vue made backdrop packs here at Renderosity. There are also some free ones on DeviantArt, made with MojoWorld.

I still have my Vue 4 Pro hahaaaaaaaaa!   I'll install it on my next PC when this one dies as I'm not about to pay $199 for the priviledge of them sending me an activation code for  unlocking the software that I've already paid for.  I keep meaning to try it out on my lappie which is Win 10 but haven't got around to it.

Best advice if you have problems is to right click and run compatibility checker/ run in compatibility mode?
