Subject: Adding a tattoo

I'm trying to add this tattoo to a different figure. I can a portion of the tattoo on the new figure using texture paint but it crops as the figure's surface bends

If I try to adjust the angle of the figure to get more of the tattoo, the image no longer lines up. Does anyone have any suggestions or know of any tutorials that cover this? Most of the tutorials I find either are using a flat object or solid colors so there's no need to line up the angles.
