It could be the auto save. You can adjust how often it runs in the settings. It could be that something in the scene is bogging down your computer. You can try hiding everything you're not working on directly, including the hair of the figure you are working on.

I'm working with 3 cameras on a complex shot, to put 5 actors in a convertible. screenshot:
two issues that slow me down. each time I move the camera or the actress, the whirling beach ball starts and lasts for a few seconds. what's happening? is it saving the file over and over? of not. but saving the file is important as I progress. because if poser crashes, which has been happening more often of late, I will lose my work, so after exch significant move I press CMD + s. that saves I'm told, but where can I retrieve such a save if a crash happens? I looked in recent saves and could not find anything like that. Does it save it across my initial save, so after a crash I bring up that file it should contain the latest version? Is that what's happening?
