Just dl'd and installed 14.0.227. I have not yet played with the new cloth feature but I wanted to say that the rendering bug I put in a ticket on has been swatted. The rendering is handling legacy materials as well as P13 in my initial rendering tests. Naturally I am pleased and very excited to start messing with the new cloth dynamics. =)

Hi Rhia474.
I haven't upgraded so far to Poser 14 - I'm still using Versions 11 and 13.
However, I've been looking at the Poser 14 User Manual. The physics cloth features are documented there. The manual is on Posersoftware.com under the Documentation heading of the site.
Many years ago I tried everything under the sun to simulate cloth in Carrara's implementation of Bullet Physics. There are (naturally) close similarities in the processes involved in the two programs (Carrara and Poser). The insurmountable problem in Carrara's implementation was that cloth draping was only good until the figure wearing the cloth moved.
Then the limbs would pass through the draped cloth ruining everything. That shortcoming which put animation out of the question was what led me to buy Poser with its Cloth Room at version 9. From what I can glean from the Poser 14 documentation coupled with my understanding of Bullet Physics cloth (seriously flawed in Carrara) I think that the Poser 14 cloth solution will be excellent.
In particular it allows a live simulation to be viewed before hitting the 'simulate' button which carries out the final simulation and adds keyframes to the timeline.
Simulated items can be saved to the library with their settings (but their simulation will need to be run again if brought into a new scene.
Profound apologies to Renderosity and anyone reading this if I've misunderstood anything and have said anything misleading at this early stage. I'd better add that almost all simulations I carry out are with home-made simple meshes. I don't have any knowledge of how bought items with buttons, zips, belts, etc. will be handled.
