Subject: Is Poser 4 better than Poser 3?

I have poser 3 now and was thinking about upgrading, but I didn't know how much of an improvement it was. Can anybody give me some insight? Thanks.

Poser 4 features over Poser 3:
Conforming clothing
Transparency/Transmap support
Some metastream exporter thingy
Conforming clothing
Some improved figures and some new included figures
Conforming clothing
What else...?

Oh yeah, conforming clothing.

The Magnets & "Spawn Morph" features are worth the upgrade price in and of themselves. You can create some very nice models, movements & custom parts if you take the time to learn them. I.E., if your character is sitting you can use a magnet to flatten the theigh muscles to make it look more natural.

Transparency maps, if you only need one reason to go Poser4, it's transparency maps!!! Transmapped hair in Poser4 looks like... hair! Hair props in Poser3 look like... silly hats! ;-)

Oh, YEAH, baby! 4 beats 3 hands down. In addition to the features mentioned above, posing and rendering are faster.
