heya; for the second part remember these poser obj-editing commandments: DONT MOVE THE MESH DONT SIZE THE MESH also, if you are using ray dream, make sure the object is at position 0,0,0. not sure why the first two segments would be mangled. did you look at their joint parameters? are you cutting out pieces in the middle, or at the end? hmmm... do they have the 'curve' attribute? sometimes things with the curve attribute set start out twisted, but straighten themselves out when you move them. or you can set the curve parameter to 0.
Boy, a lot of models under the dam since the worm ... The first problem is probably the result of the worm being made as a single mesh then being sliced into parts. Only the very first and the very last segments have end caps. So, if you delete some segments, the normals on the inside of the mesh are reversed and so those polys will not be visible. At least that is my interpretation of what you mean by mangled. If not send me a pic and I'll take a look. I can tell you for certain what the second problem is though. I made the worm long before I discovered how to pre-scale the .obj to 4-5% and center at the origin before exporting for Poser. So, you can either read that section of the tutorials and apply them or you can just scale the worm down in Poser by selecting 'body' and using the scale parameter dial. Drop me a note if I can be of further help.

I'm playing with Bushi's Superworm trying to learns the character making process. I delete segments (its a long tube of 37 consecutive segments) edit the PHi to reflect the new geometry, but the first 2 segments are always mangled, no matter where I decide to cut in & start my new SuperWorm. secondly, the object loads way outside the normal viewing area, & when rotating the object, the center of rotation is in the middle of the viewing area somewhere. Any advise? Regards, Pack
