Subject: Is it possible to keep models out of the Poser tree ?

Just getting back into Poser after a long absence. I know that Poser wants all new models, poses etc in the runtime directory of poser, but is it possible to keep them elsewhere ? Are there any utilities around to help with this ? I recall seeing a few postings about this 18 months ago, somewhere, but can't remember the answer. cheers

CR2 file language always writes filenames Mac fashion even on a PC, e.g. figureResFile :aa:divers:rebr2.obj, not figureResFile aadiversrebr2.obj , since Poser was originally written for Mac. That filename is a Mac relative filename, with the user's Poser installation treated as the current folder. So, please how is a Mac absolute file address written, including drive letter or its Mac equivalent? When that is known, would it work in Poser for PC? Or in Poser for Mac even?

The Mac uses names for drives, just like it does for folders. So the absolute file address just starts with the drive name. The default name for the main hard drive on most Macs as delivered is (not very origninally) "Maciontosh HD." So the address of something on that drive is just something like: Macintosh HD:Applications:Poser4:Runtime:Geometries:aa:divers:rebr.obj or something like that. Yes, spaces (as well as other special characters) are allowed. - JimX

It seems that this is a question to be forwarded to Curious Labs. P.S., in that case with my models etc the filename would be Macintosh HD:Applications:Poser4:Runtime:aa:divers:rebr.obj without ":Geometries".
