Subject: that turbosquid place

Hi, I went over to the turbosquid place...it is really a strange place! They have a way of NOT giving you your sales money for 90 days, and then still not, unless it totals $50...and then not unless..and on and on.. I read carefully through the FAQ'S.... Just to let people here know, it is much better to sell your stuff here, and other proper stores! I don't think I will even "join" to try and get the free stuff.. they make me really uncomfortable! (am not sure those buildings will go into vue3 for me, either.. if Laurie has trouble, I would never get it! :) Sara

Yeah, I have to say I found Turbo Squid kind of difficult to navigate, at best. And that skinhead-looking guy on the front page didn't really do much to comfort me, shall we say.. ;)

Turbosquid IS strange! You have top companies like Geometrics, IW43D and De Espona selling stuff side by side with one-offs from people you've never heard of and prices that range from a buck or two for really good models to $300 for crap! Only one thing, though. Some of the stuff they sell is awsome! I've fallen in love with the old house models from Shervin Family, and of course, the Espona stuff is top notch! However, if I built models for sale, I wouldn't want to sell them there, that's for sure! -SMT

I'd rather stay in my lane than lay in my stain!

I agree with you smallspace, but yes...they do have some awesome stuff for sale there. I'm not a modeler, so I would have no need to sell anything thru them anyway ;). Sara...I thought I said once that I already had a model by ThinIce, didn't I??? ;). No matter...it imported into Vue just fine :). I got the .3ds versions of his/her models, but since Vue 3 imports .lwo as well, I don't see much of a conflict with either. You can at least register to get the free stuff! ;) One can never have too many models...LOL. Laurie

Oh, well, I guess I got confused about file formats..I have only delt with obj's for Vue.... oh wait! Except for sam's fence.. which was 3ds!! Now where did I get the idea you had trouble importing!?!? oh well... maybe I WILL go back and try for some free buildings!! :)) Sorry for my mixup! Sara
