  1. do not make a poser 2 max plugin anymore: why? it does not work at all 2. please check the update because it records asifont, and 6 other dll files into the root directory ot the boot disk, .i.e if your winnt or windows is installed to drive c: the dll files are ALSO copied to the root of c: even though the poser pro still works but the plugin doesn't I know how to install and uninstall programms, i write my own programms, so it is not my mistake. in addition 1 in every 1 installation the poser pro failes to find max4 installation on the hard disk, while the sr2 finds it once in ever 10 times. guys!!!!!! #. IF you are using the special version of poser pro which you are not distributing to us TELL us, because i did not so far read any message whereabout someone cries of joy after being able to use it. SPeCIAL message for mr. anthony fernandes: Amigo! if you know how to use the propack's plugin withmax 3 or 4 write about it: show pictures, make a tutorial, "chew" it for us step by step or else you guys at curious labs will face very low sales of your poser 5 if it will ever arise.

The poser 2 max plugin works just fine for me. I make a lot of use of it without any problems at all. What problem are you having?

dunga ( ) posted Sun, 17 June 2001 at 2:48 AM
  1. thank you at least one person replied: here are the problems: when i start the plugin by clicking the load scene button all i get is a pink square and a white wire cube nothing helps only once in my life time i have seen the poser figure but it was in the max 3 version. and even then the programm performed and illegal operation :)

click and drag --- it wants you to scale the poser figure into the scfene.

dunga ( ) posted Sun, 17 June 2001 at 4:14 AM

did that !!! simple nothing happening ...an empty spot

Open Keyboard Entry in the Poser Modifier and just click the Create button. The figures are scaled to a default factor of 100, but can be changed here along with the xyz coordinates of it's location. It's easier to just drag the Poser Universe icon in the viewport to where you want it. The Poser plug behaves like most others I've used that create geometry. You have to locate where you wish it placed before it does the actual creation. I find this "manual" creation thru the Keyboard Entry panel to be the easiest. As a programmer, Dunga, I expect you wouldn't have read the manual! wink Hope this gets it for ya.. :)

I use Max3 and PPP and it works perfectly. I like the keyboard entry method also.

How about a Screen shot from a MAC User at curious Labs hosting a propack scene in with animation lightwave 6.5?? Ill give Curious Labs credit for one thing: SR2 actually installed this time on my mac G3 SR1 would just crap out claiming an "unknown Error" and under SR2 Lightwave 6.5 actually can See my poser file in the Load scene dialog box but alas it rejects it as an unknown format.even when i say look for all files (A Little hint guys to my knowledge lightwave plugins must have a extension such as "skytracer.p" so creating an installer that puts a plugin in my newtek plugins folder called "pzrfrlw6x" does NOt help your cause. Oh well back to rig building in lightwave and cinema 7 when you guys at curious are ready to play in the big leagues, you have my email address. Mocap

SPECIAL message for dunga: Amigo! You've obviously seen my name in several places in order to refer to me specifically. You must know where to look to see my name listed. And you still misspell it, despite having it right in front of you or being able to look it up. As far as tutorials go, if you have any specific ideas, email me at anthony@curiouslabs.com. I have described the tutorial's interface and deliberately left it wide opn since, if you know how to use Poser and Max, you ought to be able to generate lots of ideas on your own. Asking me to "chew" the plug-in for you is kind of like demanding that a hammer come with tutorials describing the infinite variety of houses one can build with it. You and everyone is free to ask for any tutorial you want. If enough folks ask for the same one and if I can fit it into my workload, I'll be glad to look into it. Lastly, if you are having technical problems with Pro Pack or any CL product, you are welcome to email tech@curiouslabs.com. Responses are extremely fast overall these days. :-) Anthony HERNANDEZ Curious Labs

Just in case anyone misinterprets the tone of my previous post, I intended it as a little good-natured ribbing with absolutely no hard feelings whatsoever. ;-) And I am serious about tutorial ideas- I'll look at them all and consider them. Obviously, I cannot respond to all requests, but I do the best I can. Cheers, Anthony H-E-R-N-A-N-D-E-Z (Oops - Sorry dunga! :-) ) Curious Labs
