IMHO..normally in underwater, we do not see shadow as such unless its very shallow and the sunlight are very harsh and the water crystal clear. If there is shadow, its normally very very transluscent (sp?) With regards to your figure, I find that the point where the tail bend is a bit on the 'steep' side. May be its the angle of view, but it be great if you can have a more 'blending' curve that suggest a wavy movement of the overall body structure.
Thanks for the suggestions. I will see if I can include some more background scenery and see what it will add to the picture. And I don't know if the shadows are incorrect. They are rendered by VUE 4 ;). The underwater scene was done just like it was discribed in the user guide. Maybe I will play around with the options and see what happens :). And I like the way the tail is bend. Maybe you are right that it is a bit steep but IMHO it adds to the picture.
heyas; the shadows look pointing the same way to me. you have caustics on the ground, which is nice. but none on the figure, where they would look hella cool. you can try making a light gel with a plane and the caustic material (change the transparency so it makes shadows). this is what i did for my grumpy bass picture; improved it 100%. :)
