O.k. I'm the first to admit that I'm new at this, but I have a quick, and stupid question. I want to create a new texture for a Poser 4 nude man. It's for a original SuperHero type character. The only textues in the Runtime file make it impossible to draw on and not have some funky seam on the side. SO I tryed to use the template on the poser content CD up the template won't fit the guy right. The head and back arms are messed up. Please help!

The templates on the CD are indeed not correct. You can easily make new templates with UVMapper at any resolution. The seams at the sides are always be the biggest challenge when making textures. Any pattern going across this area will require quite alot moving back and forth between Poser and your paint program to perfect. This is the break point between good and bad textures.

By far the best and easiest way to create textures for any figure or object is to use Painter 3D. If you have poser 4 then this came free with it. You will have to spend a little bit of time studying how to use it of course but it is well worth the effort. You can hold the model in your hand and paint it (virtually). You will still need UV mapper to actually get it into Painter 3D as there was a serious omision in Poser 4. You can't export the model as one complete .obj group like you could in Poser 3. I have a tutorial on my site (quick plug) that adresses this problem with a cure. www.3dvision03.freeserve.co.uk/ Go to tutorials. Have a look at the galleries while you are there...:) Colm...
