Well I finally finished this animation. It was probably the most complicated one I have done so far. I was going to post it up but I only have tripod. They arnt so keen on that sort of thing. I have to find someplace that will let me share 5 to 10meg avi's. I am pretty happy with it. Lots of things did not turn out how I wanted them to, but lots of things turned out better than I thought. I thought the CG's looked good and the sound f/xs where nice. This animation was about 270 hours of rendering, split between a p3 500 and an athlon 900. The last sequence with the globe was the real killer...the text map rendered for 72 hours in AE and the 3d section took 180 hours on my athlon. I had to render the tunnel sequnce twice. The first time it was acceptable but after the patch it looked 1,000x better. The new patch made a BIG difference in image quality. Well I have to plan my next animation now. I dont know what it is, but I am thinking of a countdown/slate for my edits..could be fun. Send up your email if you want to see the animation and make room...its like 7megs.

As far as hosting the video I have no idea...my website limits me to 512k. I have a site that I'm working on for a customer with no limit...but I don't think he'd appreciate me hosting the movie...especially since there is a maximum amount of traffic that he is allowed to have without paying for it...Good luck to you, and when you find a place to host it please let us know!!! I have 6 megs from my isp but whenever my ftp client connects to it, the isp kicks me off. I think they dont have it activated. I'll check it out on monday.

Very nice indeed.... (I thought I posted a reply yesterday, but it doesn't seem to be here....) Have you thought of compressing the animation into an MPEG? Then, at least, we all could see it! (Granted, it wouldn't be nearly as nice as the full-motion, full resolution NTSC animation, but it'd be something.) Always nice to see people on this forum doing pro work. Keep it up!

Inspirational work. I'm thinking to make the jump to Lightwave soon,..but I am impressed with your work using Carrara. What video editing program did you use and what was your method for animating the character?
