I built the wall, with an arch opening, in Ray Dream Studio. When I import it to Poser4 and render I get the unwanted lines on the objects surface. Is there any way to get rid of these? The arch was done in the free form modeler of RDS

You could try remodeling it and use quadralateral polygons as much as possible instead of triangles, which have an annoying tendency to create these artifacts. Also check to see if their normals are pointed in the right direction. Hope this helps.

I did exactly the same thing in Ray Dream 5.5 and had the same problem. In addition to quadralateral polys I made sure all edges and corners are coplanared(Hope it's spelled right). Umm that is that edges and corners are rounded. I hope thats some kind of help.

For some reason that image reminds me of "Nude Descending a Staircase" by Deschamps. You may wish to work WITH the artifacts and see if "art" happens. Carolly
